About

I’m a Bay Area-based senior editorial leader and content strategist with an MFA in Creative Writing and deep experience in authoring and managing the delivery of content that reaches millions of readers.

Upon graduating from Miami University (no, the other one), I went to work as a journalist for Yahoo, where I wrote and edited thousands of blogs and articles for the most widely viewed website on the planet. Topics ranged from breaking news to award shows to Super Bowls to political conventions.

While there, I also wrote a daily column called “Ask Yahoo” (which later became “Ask Mike”). Readers sent in fun, random, or bizarre questions, and I’d choose one to answer each day. A few of my favorite research topics: why dogs love to stick their heads out of car windows and whether mosquitoes play a single positive role in the world.

In recent years, I shifted into copywriting and content strategy, including helping Gen-AI learn to recommend films and television shows at Netflix. Other career highlights include Electronic Arts, where I helped launch EA Play, a first-of-its-kind videogame subscription service, and Google, where I focused on curating kid-focused apps on Google Play and forging partnerships with outside developers.

Throughout my career, I’ve been recognized as a confident manager and skilled content creator who demonstrates expertise across a range of subjects. I enjoy serving as an advisor, mentor, and coach to new writers.
